DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Family and friends of a shooting victim came together for a vigil Sunday evening.
Candles lit up the night at the H & H Car Service Center, on Riverview Ave. in Dayton. That's where Willie Boddie Jr., 28, was found dead in a car Friday.
A crowd gathered to pray and remember Boddie, Jr., who leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter.
"He tried to be the best father he could be for her and I'm sad for her," said his sister, Mashell McCleskey.
Police have only a vague description of the man who killed him. They said they don't believe it was a robbery.
"You just can't believe it, you hear about it but you never think it's gonna happen to you," said his mother, Patricia Boddie.
The amateur youth soccer tournament is one of the largest in the country.
