Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) - .According to AAA, more than 43 million Americans will be traveling during this Thanksgiving Holiday and more than 90 percent of them will be driving, on average about 50 miles or less.

In Montgomery County, make sure you don't leave home without the Arrive Safe phone number at 449-9999.

Call the number if you've had too much to drink, anytime between 6 pm Wednesday , November 21 through 6 am  Sunday, November 25.

With more people on the roads, police around Ohio say expect to see increased traffic and increased patrols and OVI checkpoints as the Thanksgiving Holiday is one the busiest travel days of the year and one of the costliest.

According to AAA, the national average for gas is 3.41 a gallon but we have seen prices shoot-up to around 3.59 a gallon in some locations in the Dayton area.
