DAYTON, Ohio - Fifteen-thousand bright yellow rubber ducks were dropped into the Great Miami River Saturday for the 9th Annual URS Rubber Duck Regatta.

Thousands of ducks floated down the river for a race to the finish line.

The top seven ducks were awarded prizes.

The grand prize was a week stay at a houseboat on Norris Lake. A hot tub, airline tickets, and an iPad 2 were among the other prizes.

Proceeds from the event provide vital services and programs for more than 400 local children and adults with disabilities in the Miami Valley.

"Every dollar from every duck sold goes directly to kids and adults with disabilities," said Dennis Grant, Executive Director of URS.

United Rehabilitation Services was originally founded as the Dayton Chapter of United Cerebral Palsy. For 56 years, URS has made a difference in the lives of over 250,000 children and adults with disabilities and other special needs.
