DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Gas prices have topped $4 a gallon across the Dayton area as price increases related to Hurricane Isaac make their way into the Miami Valley.

Gas Buddy analyst Patrick DeHaan noted oil operations in the Gulf of Mexico were tapering back in a blog post Monday.

DeHaan said the nation could see increasing prices as a result of shutdowns at oil platforms in the gulf.

Our crews spotted regular gas at $4.09 a gallon at the Shell station on Far Hills Avenue and Stroop Road.
