MIAMI TWP., Ohio (WDTN) - Major John DiPietro spoke to reporters briefly as he left his pre-disciplinary hearing, which lasted more than five hours, at the Miami Township Offices Wednesday night.
"I think I need to let justice take shape here and give me a fair shake at some false allegations," says Major DiPietro.
He has been on paid administrative leave for weeks following allegations of misconduct.
Back in July, officials say he was alone with a naked 17-year-old girl when he decontaminated her after she was pepper sprayed.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation into the incident and decided not to file criminal charges.
Major DiPietro, a 26-year-veteran of the department, defends his actions.
"What's happened here to me is a conspiracy and we'll deal with it when I come back," comments Major DiPietro.
The 57-page report by the Sheriff's Office alleges several incidents of inappropriate conduct by Major DiPietro, including; allowing the juvenile to take her clothes off and asking a girl doing community service to leave the area.
DiPietro also admitted to taking a picture of the girl's tattoo on her lower back and sending it to a friend.
And Chief Chris Krug says Major DiPietro did not properly document this incident. He appeared at Wednesday's hearing.
"Basically, I'm here to do my job as Chief. Not the most pleasant moment, but again, the trustees pay me to do a job and that's what I'm going to do," explains Chief Krug.
Trustees still have to hear some testimony. They will continue the hearing on November 26th at 9 A.M.
"I look forward to coming back and finishing this out," says Major DiPietro.
He faces five outcomes: dismissal, demotion, suspension, resignation or no action at all.
