DAYTON (WDTN) - All lanes of northbound Interstate 75 were back open at 8:30 Sunday night after a fuel spill earlier in the evening.

Hazmat crews were called to the area of Route 4 and Interstate 75 around 6:30 p.m.

Authorities told 2 NEWS a car lost control and bounced off a barrier wall into a semi. The semi dragged the car, which then tore a hole in the trucks saddle gas tanks.

Captain Jeff Lykins with the Dayton Fire Department said the semi driver had just filled up so the tanks were holding 200 gallons of diesel fuel.

"About 50 gallons was already down upon our arrival. We've dyked that and we are currently off loading the spill," added Capt. Lykins.

One person was taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
