DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - 2 NEWS has learned that an organization that has been aggressively raising money to save the Arcade in downtown Dayton has suspended its support of the project.

Mary Beth Graham, spokesperson for Friends of the Arcade, told 2 NEWS that the volunteer group has discontinued fundraising efforts.

Graham said "due to the lack of any tangible forward momentum in the Arcade project from owner Gunther Berg, the group has lost confidence in Berg's ability to get the project back on track."

Graham added that Berg has not returned e-mails and phone calls leaving them to feel "They've been riding on promises for far too long with very little results."

She concluded, "The group now questions whether Berg's actions were hopefulness or just Berg’s attempts to string the group along."

Graham also told stated that if Berg can produce a viable plan with solid financial backing that the Friends of the Arcade organization would re-evaluate its support.
