The free, 45-minute lessons are scheduled by age group (ages 6 months to 5 years, 5 to 15 years, and 16 and up).
“Drowning and injuries resulting from the lack of swimming skills are often preventable,” said LaShea Smith, Director of Recreation and Youth Services. “We are providing free swim lessons as a community service for three weeks to encourage everyone to take a class that may save a life.”
The lessons will be offered at two City of Dayton pools: the Family Aquatic Center at 2021 W. Third St., 333-4742 and and Dabney Pool at 1600 Princeton Dr., 333-3053.
For a schedule of lessons, go to www.daytonrecreationandyou.com or call 333-8400.
