DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The Dayton Art Institute began the celebrations for its annual Oktoberfest Saturday on the museum grounds.

The theme of this year's Oktoberfest is "41 Years of Cheer and Beer."

Folks can sample a variety of domestic, international, and craft beers, as well as international wines.

The festival also includes an array of artisans, international foods, kid-friendly art activities, and live music.

The event runs from noon until 11 p.m. Saturday, and noon until 7 p.m. Sunday.

Admission at the gate is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $4 for students. Children six and under are admitted free.

The RTA is providing free shuttle service at this year's Oktoberfest. Shuttles will run directly from Fifth and Bainbridge to the Dayton Art Institute.

The route travels from Wayne Avenue to Fifth Street to Main Street to Second Street across the Salem Avenue bridge to the festival main entrance.

Look for Wright Flyer replica trolleys with Oktoberfest destination signs and board at any stop along this route for no charge.
