DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - At least 20 students had to be evacuated from a University of Dayton campus home when a fire broke out during a Halloween party early Saturday morning.
Flames sparked in the basement of the house in the 400 block of Stonemill Road on UD's campus around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
Fire officials said the blaze spread through the floor and up part of the wall into the kitchen.
Students first noticed smoke coming up through the vents in the floor and called firefighters.
When crews arrived, they worked quickly to douse the blaze and prevent the fire from spreading.
No injuries were reported.
According to officials, damage is estimated at $5,000-$10,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
