DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Nearly 40 people were chased from their apartments by a fire Friday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to 4409 Burkhardt Avenue in Dayton at 1:30pm.
The believe the fire started in the basement of the building by someone burning wax.
36 units were damaged, some by flame, but most by smoke and water damage.
The Red Cross was called in to assist the people displaced. Property management is providing temporary housing.
A firefighter was injured by falling debris. He is expected to be okay. No one living there was hurt.
