DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Flames could be seen from I-75 as fire consumed an old hotel on Edwin C. Moses Blvd. in Dayton early Saturday morning.
A witness called for help when she smelled smoke near the old Econo Lodge. The flames quickly moved from the first floor to the second and destroyed several rooms.
Although the hotel was sitting abandoned, fire crews said there were several people inside. They all escaped without injury.
The fire is under investigation, but firefighters said it is suspicious.
There were no utilities on in the structure.
