DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - "It's just time for us to stop the violence," says Pastor Christopher Heard.

He was in the middle of choir practice at Breakthrough Annointed Ministries when he heard gunshots around 6 Saturday evening.

Dayton Police say Charles L. Black, 26, was found shot to death in the driver's seat of a black Infiniti in the parking lot of the Bancroft Apartments.  Police say he was shot multiple times through the back of the car.

Police are still looking for the shooter.

Right now, police are interviewing witnesses but say the Black didn't live there.

Neighbors tell us he was a bouncer at local clubs.

This is now the fifth homicide in four days in Dayton.

"It's time for us to come together as a community.  Vengence belongs to the Lord.  We need to all be cautious of our surroundings and what's going on but, at any time, we should always seek prayer.  Prayer is the key to everything," comments Pastor Heard.

At this point, police don't have a motive but say this deadly shooting doesn't appear to be connected to any of the others, which appear to be drug-related.

"I would say, for most people, if they're just normal citizens, sitting in their house.  There's very little danger to them," explains Lt. Donald Burden.

If you have information on this homicide or any of the others, call CrimeStoppers at 222-7867.
