MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) - Moraine police want you to be on the alert for a duo accused of stealing a laptop computer.
Police say the couple stole it from the Rent-A-Center on Springboro Pike on June 18.
Investigators say the woman kept the store clerk occupied while the man swiped the computer.
Surveillance video caught the crime as it happened.
"Not only did he conceal that down his pants and pull the shirt over the top, but then he walked back to where the female was that he came in the store with and told her that he needed to go to the bathroom and assured the clerk they would be back which of course they did not return," said Paul Guess, Moraine Police Department.
It wasn't until hours later when the employees realized what had happened.
"We're seeing an increase in these kind of crimes where they're working as a team so that attention can be diverted from the actual person that's committing the theft offense."
The laptop is valued at $355.
Investigators believe the pair drove off in a tan Chevy Tahoe with 20-inch rims.
If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 222-7867.
