MIAMI TWP, Ohio (WDTN) - Miami Township Police Major John DiPietro fired back in a written statement Thursday, a day after a Sheriff’s Department report outlined what it called acts of improper conduct.
In a statement sent to the media via his attorney, DiPietro said he expects to be vindicated of the allegations against him.

DiPietro is accused of improper conduct when he decontaminated a juvenile female, alone in the police department’s sally port.
In the statement, DiPietro says his intention was “to treat this person in a respectful and humane manner.”
He goes on to point out that the suspect’s mother contacted him to say that her daughter was “very appreciative of the way I treated the daughter.”
The outcome of the hearing, including the possibility of any changes with DiPietro’s future with the department will be determined when the hearing continues on Nov. 26.
