DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A Dayton school opened its doors early Tuesday for a little cleaning time.
Volunteers at the Dayton Early College Academy cleaned classrooms, painted and spruced up the school.
They assembled furniture, organized books and planted flowers.
School officials say they want to make sure the school is ready for students when they return.
"They're painting, they brought their tools and drills, whatever needs fixing. If we need shelves to be fixed and that, you know, they're carrying boxes that get delivered," said Anne Burns, Reading Specialist.
DECA's school year begins Wednesday, August 15.
