DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Fewer patients die in Dayton's hospitals from complications than in any other city's hospitals in the country, according to a group that measures hospital quality.
The group known as Healthgrades also named Grandview and Southview Medical Centers as top 50 hospitals in America.
They were also in the top 5 percent in the country for clinical excellence.
All those marks may make you feel a little better before you even get to the hospital the next time you're sick.
Grandview's President Richard Haas says the reason for the low mortality rates comes down to one thing, the people.
"It's working consistently," says Haas. "It's the medical staff working hard with the nursing staff and the other caregivers to give good strong quality care."
Healthgrades recommends that you look at the quality of a hospital before having a procedure done there.
