DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The City of Dayton will provide curbside recycling pickup for residential waste collection customers in Jefferson Township

The city intends to expand its regional service sharing options by mid-summer, according to public works director Fred Stovall.

Dayton has provided weekly waste collection for approximately 2,500 customers in Jefferson Township since 2007, Stovall said, and beginning July 1, Jefferson Township customers will have the option to add bi-weekly recycling pickup to their service, for an additional pro-rated fee of just $5 per year in 2013 and $10 per year from 2014 through 2017.

The recycling service allows customers to put all recyclable materials (paper products and glass, plastic and metal containers) in one bin.

Jefferson Township waste collection customers wishing to add recycling pickup should call the City of Dayton at 333-4800 to request delivery of a 96-gallon recycling bin.

The Dayton City Commission approved the new contract at its February 13 meeting.
