DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A group of students from Dayton Public Schools has been selected as the official video documentary team for one of the largest education conventions in the country.

David H. Ponitz Career Technology Center has been chosen to document the 2012 Ohio School Boards Association Capital Conference and Trade Show, Nov. 11-14, in Columbus. The school, a partnership between Dayton Public Schools and Sinclair Community College, was selected based on the outstanding video work it submitted to OSBA.

The OSBA documentary project, now in its fourth year, gives students the opportunity to document the private, not-for-profit association's statewide conference, which draws more than 10,000 public education leaders from Ohio and beyond. The Ponitz CTC crew will record different events during the conference and edit the footage into a 10-minute documentary. The final product will be streamed on OSBA's website, shared with other state school boards associations and used to promote the conference.

Ponitz CTC Radio & TV Media Arts students produce a weekly school news broadcast titled, "Golden Panther TV." Students collaborate with Digital Design and Graphic Communications students to develop news packages for broadcast. They work with other programs in the school to create broadcasts, as well as classroom assignments.
