DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The national anthem will get a full diva rendition when President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden arrive in Dayton today.

Dayton Opera is sending its lead singer, Soprano Angela Mortellaro , to perform the Star Spangled Banner at the president's campaign rally at Triangle Park.

Mortellaro will be singing the part of Lucia in the upcoming production of Lucia di Lammermoor.

Mortellaro, of Milwaukee, Wis., has been in town for about two weeks preparing for this weekend's debut of the 2012-2013 season of the Dayton Opera.

Performances for the opera are Friday, Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m. at the Schuster Center .

Dayton Opera was founded in 1960 and is the region's only professional opera company. Annually, it produces three fully staged opera productions and one Star Gala concert presentation.
