DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Passenger traffic at Dayton International Airport increased nearly 5% in October when compared to 2011.
Boardings totaled 115,484 in October, a 4.8% increase. Year-to-date, 1,092,226 passengers have boarded planes at Dayton, a 2.5% increase over last year.
Delta Airlines and its affiliated carriers have experienced the greatest growth through October, with a gain of 8.5%. Air cargo activity, while down 4.8% in October, is up 2.5% year-to-date for 2012.
Dayton International Airport announced it offer discounted parking throughout the Thanksgiving holiday season, with $5 parking in the economy lot from November 21 through November 26.
The Purple Passion 5K run/walk was held at Shawnee Park Saturday afternoon.
