DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Dayton residents in the Belmont area have experienced cloudy water recently which caused Department of Water officials to urge residents that city water is safely within applicable standards.
Water cloudiness can occur when air is introduced into the supply by hydrant flushing, water supply shut off, or large water distribution system pumps.
Officials tested the water supply following initial reports of cloudiness on July 10 and found that results comply with standards. Hydrant flushing and equipment inspections have been conducted to pinpoint the cause and stop the issue.
The Department of Water continually monitors water quality and will notify residents in the event of unsafe conditions. For more information, call 333-6030. Visit the Dayton Department of Water online at www.daytonwater.org.
