DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - During the month of October, a local Dayton dessert shop has announced a plan to donate a portion of proceeds to breast cancer research.
Brittany Moore owner Moore Dessert Please said it was watching someone close to her lose their mother that inspired her efforts to give back.
All month, 25 cents of every special pink, white almond cupcake sold goes to the American Cancer Society.
"I knew October was breast cancer month but I never got involved until I saw someone go through the pain the disease brings," said Moore.
Customers who spoke with 2 News also expressed their delight for a delicious treat with lasting rewards.
"It's hard to deal with family who is sick, and you want to do something but you can't. With this, it gives back to research and education, and hopefully they can find a cure," said customer Joy Denlinger.
Moore Dessert Please is located at 1003 Shroyer Road in Dayton.
