Crews respond to a Dayton structure fire

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Fire crews were called to 29 Caho St. in Dayton on reports of a fire coming from the attic of a duplex. Crews were dispatched around 11:40 Sunday morning.

According to authorities, there were people in the home at the time of the fire. Residents said they heard some type of loud explosion, and then the blaze sparked. Everyone made it out of the home safely.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.

There were no injuries reported, but there was an estimated $50,000 worth of damage done to the home.

Residents also reported power being out around the neighborhood. Authorities believe the fire may have been electrical.

The fire is still under investigation.
