TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - A car crashed into a utility pole Monday night in Trotwood, leaving dozens in the dark.

It happened around 9 p.m. in the 800 block of Miller Ave.

The vehicle overturned onto its passenger side, trapping a woman inside for a short time.

She and three other people were taken to Miami Valley Hospital, with what officials called non-life threatening injuries.

The car caught fire on impact, witnesses said a man living nearby was able to put it out with a fire extinguisher.

The crash left 56 customers without power, according to Dayton Power and Light officials. All power has since been restored.

It remains unclear what caused the driver to lose control.
