DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Community members gathered to remember a Kettering Middle School student who was fatally hit by an SUV October 16.
Poilce said Andy Li, 12, of Kettering was riding his bike on south Smithville road near Watervliet avenue when he was struck by a Hummer leaving the Taco Bell parking lot.
A makeshift memorial, consisting of stuffed animals, flowers, balloons and written messages, now marks where the accident happened.
Family and friends of Andy gathered there Monday evening for a candle light vigil.
There, the President of the Belmont Business Association presented the family with a check to help with funeral expenses. Li was laid to rest Monday morning in Kettering.
Police said the accident is still under investigation. No charges have been filed in the accident.
