DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Friends and family gathered for a prayer vigil Saturday after a man's life was cut short by gun violence.

Sisters of the Precious Blood, the Adam Project, Street Souljahz, church members, along with others from the community gathered in the 1000 block of Shakespeare Avenue at noon Saturday to remember 24-year-old James Jeffrey Jr.

A makeshift memorial of flowers, teddy bears, and candles was placed on the steps of Jeffrey's home.

Jeffrey was killed on October 6, when two suspects forced their way into his Shakespeare Avenue home and opened fire on Jeffrey and his brother. Jeffrey's brother suffered a critical gunshot wound to the stomach.

Police are still looking for suspects in that case. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 222-7867.
