CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - Most of the main roads, like East Alex Bell Road, are just wet but that's not true on many of the side streets.  For example, Cedarleaf Drive has a couple of inches of ice and slush on it.  That's the case throughout much of the Miami Valley, the smaller, less traveled roads still aren't clear.

Drivers should be careful if they are heading out Thursday night because as the temperatures drop conditions could become icy and dangerous.

Centerville's Public Works Director Rob James tells 2 News that city crews have been cleaning up the roads since 5 A.M. Wednesday morning.

He says Centerville got about 5 to 6 inches of snow.

The streets department has a staff of 18 that has been working around the clock to try to clear the roads for drivers.  They have about 100 miles to cover so it does take some time.

"Definitely stretched our capability when we have this kind of event.  I think our guys handled it very well.  We have 6 routes. I think we did a great job," says James
