CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - A local school district is working on a new plan to keep students safe.
Centerville City Schools will keep all entrances locked. The plan will begin at the high school. Only the front doors are left unlocked right now.
The school board discussed what equipment will be needed to make the plan happen at its meeting Tuesday evening.
The superintendent says the project will be money well spent.
"Safety of our students is priority one and we want to make sure we're doing everything possible to make sure that we have a safe education setting for our staff and students," said Dr. Tom Henderson, Centerville City Schools.
The superintendent hopes to have the system in place at the high school by spring break and throughout the district by the next school year.
