DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The CareSource Foundation, part of CareSource, a non-profit, public-sector managed care company, announced Shoes 4 the Shoeless as the recipient of a $10,000 grant through the Foundation's People's Choice Grants program on Tuesday.
Each quarter, the Foundation contributes $10,000 to one nonprofit organization that is nominated and voted on by CareSource employees.
The mission of Shoes 4 the Shoeless is to ensure that no child endures the physical health risks from inadequate shoes or the lack of socks. Over the last two years, almost 5,000 children have received shoes and socks from the organization. The grant from CareSource will provide 600 pairs of shoes for children during the next year.
The Foundation also gave $2,500 grants to the other two finalists-The Children's Performing Arts of Miamisburg and The Healing Center of Cincinnati.
