HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) - Northbound SR 4 was closed at Chambersburg Road in Huber Heights for nearly four hours Thursday morning due to an accident involving two trucks.

Police said a service van slammed into the back of a dump truck that was turning onto Route 4 from Lower Valley Pike.

The impact of the crash trapped the driver of the van, and it took rescue workers nearly 50 minutes to cut him out. A firefighter involved in the effort told 2 NEWS it the most complicated extraction he's done.

CareFlight was called to the scene and the victim was flown to Miami Valley Hospital. His name and condition have not been released.

The accident happened around 8 a.m.

Investigators are still working to determine who was at fault.
