DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - More than 14,000 pages from the Boy Scouts so-called "perversion files" were released Thursday.
2NEWS checked the database and found two dozen local cases.
Clark County has the majority of abuse allegations at 6.
We found 4 reports in Montgomery County. There was one case reported in Greene County.
Champaign and Logan both have 3 while Shelby County has 2, Auglaize County has 1. Clark, Clinton, Butler and Warren also have one report apiece, as does Darke County.
The documents date from 1959 to 1985.
Officials say they show that local officials helped cover up abuse allegations on numerous occasions and weren't properly investigated.
The BSA president apologized.
"In the past, we didn't do the job we should have and we're sorry for that profoundly sorry," said Wayne Perry, BSA President.
"For us it represents the pain and anguish for thousands of untold scouts," said Paul Mones, victims' attorney.
The organization says they will look at the files and will report any offender who was not reported when the alleged abuse occurred.
