WASHINGTON TWP (WDTN) - Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a car fire in Washington Township just after 6:00 Monday morning.

Captain Jeff Papanek told 2 NEWS they found a car split in half and covered in flames near a driveway in the 600 block of Grants Trail. The passenger was lying nearby, after being ejected from the vehicle.

Papanek said the driver was walking around the scene, but was in a state of shock.

"i would suspect that they were coming home after maybe being out all night," added Papanek.

The passenger, Johnathan Endres, 21, was pronounced dead on the scene by Washington Township firefighters. The driver, also a 21-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.

Deputies said both victims lived in the Centerville/Washington Township area.  They have yet to release the name of the driver.
