DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The Blizzard Warning is still in effect until 1 a.m Thursday.  While the winds are just below blizzard criteria here in Dayton, they are still creating a lot of blowing and drifting farther north.

The heavy wet snow has decreased in intensity across most of the area but snow will continue through the evening.  It still looks like we will have 7 to 10 inches across the far north with a foot drifts.

Areas like southern Montgomery, Greene and Clinton counties have mixed with sleet for part of the snow event meaning snowfall totals will be less in these locations.

As our Storm Team 2 meteorologists expected the heaviest snow is to the north and west while the southern counties saw a bit of freezing rain and sleet.

Snow covered roads, blowing and drifting snow will be likely.  Stay tuned to 2News and wdtn.com for the latest updates.
