DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Crime tape blocked the bike path along Rip Rap Road Wednesday morning while Five Rivers Metroparks Rangers combed the area for clues in an assault.
"We are trying to look for anything and everything we can," said Det. Dan Ryan.
Detective Ryan said the investigation started with an alert maintenance worker who was in the area Wednesday morning and heard a woman screaming for help. He called medics and Metroparks Rangers, who found the woman in a wooded area.
Medics took the victim to the hospital and as of Wednesday afternoon, authorities said she was doing okay.
Officials would not say if this was a sexual assault, only that it happened around 3 a.m. and was still under investigation.
Anyone with information should call Metroparks investigators at 277-4811.
