KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) - Kettering police are investigating an armed robbery at a jewelry store.

Officers say a man walked into Jaffe Jewelers at 3951 Far Hills Avenue around 6:50 pm Monday.

He was wearing a black ski mask, black coat and pants and carried a handgun.

Investigators say he ordered the employees to hand over the cash box.  He also snatched jewelry from display cases.

No one was hurt and there were no customers in the store at the time.

Police also say the suspect has a dark, stubble beard, white gym shoes, a black backpack and was tall and skinny.  He was last seen heading west from the store on foot.

A police K9 was sent in to track the suspect, but he was not located.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Mason with the Kettering Police Department at 296-2583.

Police hope to release surveillance photos on Tuesday.
