DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A big donation Thursday to help local children who spend time in foster care.

Hundreds of cuddly stuffed animals were given to Montgomery County Jobs and Family Services.

The toys were collected by the National Council of Negro Women's Dayton chapter.  They will help young children during troubling times.

"It's a stuffed animal that is theirs.  It's their gift from us and they find comfort and some kids talk to them as well, so it provides that comfort to them during that stressful time in their life," said Geraldine Pegues, Montgomery County Jobs and Family Services.

Some children already in the foster care program were on hand to pick out their special toy.
