CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - Thieves with a taste for expensive champagne were caught on tape stealing bottles of the bubbly from the Dorothy Lane Market.
Todd Templin, the store's director of beer and wine sales said a man and woman hit-up the stores in Springboro and Centerville, usually between the hours of 7-9 p.m.
Templin said they made off with 16 bottles of champagne on March 9.
"Moet, Perrier-Jouet, Dom Perignon, and Cristal. Those selections range from $53 to $325 a bottle," Templin said.
Templin said the female suspect was a familiar face. She was spotted pushing a cart full of Champagne out of the store a few weeks ago, but she was able to get away.
"They will put a coat over it most times and quickly exit the doors, explained Templin. "They always are working, it seems, in a group of two.".
Now customers looking for the pricey bottles at Dorothy Lane Market will have to ask for it. Templin has put that stock under lock-and-key to prevent any more thefts.
