DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A former Miami Valley CEO could go back to prison after prosecutors claim his light sentence was a crime in itself.

Michael Peppel, formerly of MCSi, was sentenced to seven days in jail back in October of 2011 on fraud charges.

Prosecutors appealed that sentence claiming a crime that caused hundreds of shareholders to lose $18-million needs   a harsher punishment.

An appeals court agreed.

Recommendations for prison time now run from 8 to ten years.  No re-sentencing date has been set.
