RIVERSIDE, Ohio (WDTN) - A store clerk wasn't going to take getting robbed lightly.

Surveillance video captured the event at Hall's Eastwood Market in the 4400 block of Springfield Street in Riverside.

Police say the suspect walked into the store around 7:00 pm Sunday night armed with a box cutter.

He walked up to the counter with an energy drink and demanded that the clerk hand over the cash.

He took off and so did the clerk with a trusty baseball bat in her hand.

"She took a baseball bat from behind the counter, followed him outside, but when she went behind the building, she was obviously a little slower probably than he was, she didn't see him, she went back in where we were called," said Deputy Chief Michael Brown, Riverside Police Department.

Police commended the clerk for cooperating with the suspect during the robbery.

Call Crime Stoppers at 222-7867 if you know anything about this crime.
