5 year sentence for Dayton man with child porn

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A Dayton man was sentenced Sept. 13, 2012 for possessing child pornography.

John Allen Collins, 53, was ordered to serve five years in prison for have than 300 images of child pornography.

According to court records, federal agents received a tip from Canadian officials that someone with a Dayton area Internet connection had been participating in an online forum in 2009 known to be used by people to share child pornography.

An investigation led to Collins, where authorities found the images on his computer.

Collins was arrested in August 2011 and and pleaded guilty on January 31, 2012 to one count of possession of child pornography.
