1 shot; suspect flees scene

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Police were called to the Waldorf Lodge in the 300 block of South Paul Laurence Dunbar Street on reports of a shooting shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday.

When officials arrived, they found one man had been shot in the leg.

According to police, a crew was cleaning the building when the suspect approached the victim. Authorities believe he was attempting to burglarize the lodge and was caught by surprise by the maintenance crew.

The suspect fired shots, hitting one of the workers in the leg. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene. He is described as a black male in his 30s, approximately 5'8" to 6'0", wearing blue jeans.
