TROY, Ohio (WDTN) - The death of an 8-month-old boy in Troy Monday has been ruled a homicide. The coroner said the child died by blunt force trauma.
The child's parents, Jason Durig and Tara Durig, were both arraigned Tuesday morning on the charge of child endangering. Bond was set for each at $50,000 cash.
The couple were arrested July 26 after police found their 8-month-old son dead inside their apartment. They were called to the scene about 11:45 a.m. Monday by Tara Durig.
Court records show this is not the first time Jason Durig has been in trouble with the law. In 2007 he was charged with child abuse and endangering involving another one of his children.
The Durig's next court date is scheduled for August 3.
Police said more charges could be added pending the autopsy results.
