Piqua, Ohio (WDTN) - A 29 year old Piqua man is arrested after police say he caused a mini- standoff.

Piqua police said they were called to the 1000 block of Park Avenue around 9:30 last night after a neighbor called in a disturbance after reporting an object had been thrown threw their basement window.

Officers investigating found the juvenile inside the home of 29 year old Mike Phillips who was warned to stay away from the girl.

The couple refused to leave the house, but a parent of the girl arrived and took her away.

Soon after, police say Phillips came out of the house, threatening to shoot one of the officers who then surrounded the house as a potential stand-off.

A short time later, Police did talk Phillips out of the house, but when ordered to hit the ground to be cuffed Phillips ran back toward the house, but before he could make it, officers were able to make an arrest.

According to police Phillips then "head-butted' an officer before kicking out the window of a sheriff deputies cruiser.

Phillips is now in jail charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, assault and menacing.

Phillips father was also at the scene and was arrested for disorderly conduct.

The juvenile is charged with being unruly, and criminal damaging for breaking the neighbors window.

The police officer who was head-butted was taken to the hospital and was treated.
