Packed house in Tipp City after threats

TIPP CITY, Ohio (WDTN) - Emotions ran high as hundreds of parents packed LT Ball Intermediate School Wednesday night to talk about the five threats in the Tipp City School District.

The FBI, Tipp City Police and school administrators were all on hand, trying to reassure parents about safety concerns and they're hoping the arrest of two students for two of the threats will send a message to all students about the severe consequences.

Police say the arrested teens face a maximum of 8 years in jail, as well as thousands of dollars in fines for inducing panic.

"It sounds harsh but that they learn their lesson and they know that this is not a joke.  You can't do this to get days off school or whatever you're trying to do, it frightens a lot of people.  Look at evertone that's been involved," explains Karen Blaul.

But, police are still searching for those responsible for the other three threats.

"My concern is until they've caught all the parties that are involved in this, what happens when security goes away and the news crews go away? Are our kids going to be safe? or are they going ot try something after all the excitement is over?  I just pray about it a lot and I have faith in our school system, that's all you can do," says Peggy Crabill.

The superintendent says that the heightened security throughout the district will continue until police make arrests for those three remaining threats.
