TIPP CITY, Ohio (WDTN) - The Church of Christ Disaster Response Team is leading an effort to help Superstorm Sandy victims.

At the drop-off site in Tipp City, Danny Cremeans was hauling all sort of items, packing a trailer that will head east at the end of next week.  Already the team has delivered three trailer-loads to areas hit hard by the surge of water Sandy carried.

Items are not just for the folks who are suffering losses but also their pets.

Cremeans says he's surprised by the response so far, though he says it would be tough to miss the  florescent sign outside the warehouse.

Cremeans told 2 NEWS, "Really been surprised by how many people has responded with bringing stuff in. We have a half a trailer-load of stuff sitting down there next to the other barn, plus a trailer-load sitting inside the building plus everything you see on these two piles.

Most needed are baby items like diapers and wipes, gift cards and money are also appreciated, and because we are now into December families could really use Christmas decorations and gifts for their kids.

The drop-off site is 9285 State Route 202 in Tipp City. Donations are being taken Monday through Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m until December 15.
