PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) - Police are conducting a child abuse investigation after a 4-year-old girl was found to have what are described as "very serious injuries".
The girl is being treated at Children's Medical Center.
The case started late Thursday night with a call to 911 from 1012 Caldwell Street by someone who identified themselves as the child's babysitter and told dispatchers she had fallen down the stairs.
Police arrested Travis Gauldin at the home, but it was for a domestic violence incident that they say involved a victim other than the child and had happened in the days before the call for help.
