TROY, Ohio (WDTN) - The Miami County Board of Elections started the day already knowing that some registered voters were not going to be able to vote this time around.
Monday, the board found out the vendor responsible for getting absentee ballots to those who had made requests failed to send out 177 of them. With such short notice there was "no" way to get ballots to those people so workers tried to reach the 177 by phone last night to encourage them to go to their polling places in Miami County
The problem is, some of those voters are out of town and unable to make it back in time. 2 NEWS obtained a list of the voters who did not receive a ballot. They are currently in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Arkansas.
Add to that a group the board discovered Friday who might have gotten two absentee ballots or none at all and had ballots sent to them via overnight services.
Board of Elections chairman Roger Luring tells 2 NEWS that the board will make sure no one gets to vote twice.
