TROY, Ohio (WDTN) - Bond has been set $1.6 million for murder suspect Jeffery Bedinger.
Bedinger made his first court appearance July 12 in Miami County Municipal Court in Troy. He is facing charges of murder and kidnapping in the death of his stepson Brandon Haskins and kidnapping his 7-year-old son, Zane.
Bedinger was captured around 8 p.m., July 9 after a chase that ended in Sugarcreek Township when he crashed at the intersection of Wilmington Pike and Briggs Road.
Bedinger is accused of gunning down his 22-year-old stepson, Brandon Haskins, at a Troy apartment on July 8. Bedinger is also accused of kidnapping his own 7-year-old son, Zane.
Zane was found safe in Indiana that same night after an Amber Alert was issued for the child.
Bedinger, 50, is being held in the Miami County Jail.
