TIPP CITY, Ohio (WDTN) - Abbott announced March 1, plans to build a liquid nutrition manufacturing facility in Tipp City, Ohio.

Abbott will invest $270 million in the facility and will employ approximately 240 people. Workers at the plant will produce the products Ensure and Glucerna.

Abbott is a global health care company that employs approximately 91,000 people and markets its products in more than 130 countries.

"I am very proud of this community and am thrilled that Abbott recognizes the value of locating their business here," said Tipp City Mayor Dee Gillis. "This project will bring another valued community partner to Tipp City that will create employment opportunities for our residents”

Groundbreaking is expected in April with the plant operational in late 2013.
